Rocky Horror Audience Participation Info We are expecting a large crowd of Rocky Horror veterans on Halloween weekend. For those of you new to Rocky Horror, this is NOT your typical movie-going experience. Notice: This is an audience participation event. Shouting, singing, dancing and the throwing of authorized harmless items by the audience will be occurring during the film. This behavior should be anticipated. The plan to sell participatory props has been cancelled because we'd have to charge more than admission for you to get your kit. It will be much more economical for you to bring your own props. Below is all the information you need to know about this event.
Code of Conduct
The Rialto Theatre, being the age it is, can be easily damaged by the audience participation antics if certain precautions are not taken. We are posting this code of conduct so that the film can be enjoyed by all AND we can preserve the historical integrity of the theatre.
Please come to enjoy the film and participate with your fellow guests.
Any violation of the following code will result in your immediate ejection from the theatre.
This film is rated “R” and is full of adult themes - You are strongly encouraged to leave your children at home. ID’s are REQUIRED for all parties entering the theatre. If you cannot prove you are 17 or older, or your PARENTS are not taking you in and staying the ENTIRE show, do not attempt to purchase tickets. Tickets do not guarantee your admittance - only your ID or accompanying parent does! Appropriate costumes are WELCOMED and encouraged. Participation props are allowed in the theatre - The theatre will permit the following items; - Confetti/shredded paper (substitute for rice). Clean your 3 hole punches at work! - Small Water pistol (NO super soakers!) - Newspapers - Flashlights (NO lighters!) - Rubber Gloves - Noise Makers - Toast - Party Hats - Bells - A single Playing Card ALL persons and bags are subject to search. This is for the protection of all guests. NO throwing ANY props at or on the Screen, Stage or Auditorium walls. We are substituting confetti for the rice as the rice can damage our wooden floor. Standard cinema rules apply - No Alcohol or Smoking. Intoxicated guests will not be admitted. If you are asked to leave, please comply - you will only be asked once.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING AND ENJOY THE SHOW! |

Fireman's Parade Fun For All If you were within 10 miles of Main Street Lancaster this past Friday night, you knew something big was happening. The 150th Anniversary Firefighter’s Parade took place with well over 30 vehicles rolling up Main Street, lights flashing and horns blaring. A VERY impressive sight to see!
The fire department had set up their table right outside The Rialto’s doors and were handing out firefighter hats, coloring books and all kinds of fire prevention information to everyone who stopped by. We even got a few visits by Sparkey, the fire department’s mascot, and Pluggie the talking fire hydrant, rolling around, saying hello to excited children and adults alike. Photos are viewable here.
The firefighters and their families were treated to a private showing of Universal’s “Backdraft”, presented as a “thank you” from the Rialto owners for unselfishly answering the call every time the horn sounds. We appreciate the work you do—and hope to NEVER need you!

Join Us After The Parade This Friday, The Rialto will be offering its facilities to our local fire department for an extension of the Firefighter’s Parade. The awards ceremony that usually takes place back at the station will be on our stage following the parade. The general public is invited to join the firefighters for the ceremonies, as well as a PRIVATE SCREENING of a thematically chosen film.
The fire department relies on your generosity during their fund raising efforts to improve their equipment, and this Friday the fire department will be happy to accept your donations as you enter The Rialto. Look for the boots near the front doors.
The Rialto’s box office will be closed during the event. This event is sponsored by the owners of The Rialto, as a sign of appreciation for our brave firefighters who answer the call at all hours of the day and night. The theatre’s normal film schedule will resume Saturday afternoon. |

TBA Staff Runs Lancaster's 5K Road Race! The popcorn was popping—the soda were ice cold—and the theatre had THREE representatives in the local 5K road race! You may have recognized Abi and Ryan, two of our employees, and regulars on the White Mountain Regional High School track circuit, doing their thing. Also strutting his stuff was our own Manager—Dave Fuller, Jr, who has been training for this race for the past few months. Coming in FIRST in his age bracket, and 7th overall was our own Staff Member: Abi! No doubt his time (18:43) was encouraged by his teammate Ryan (21:29—26th overall) hot on his heels. Dave bared the unfriendly race weather (80 degrees )and put in a decent time of his own: 40:21—135th overall. We are VERY proud of our team to come together and show our continued support for all events that take place in our home town—ESPECIALLY if they happen to take place right in front of our doors! Congratulations to Abi, Ryan and Dave for running the race. We are very proud of your accomplishments! Congratulations to all 147 participants from Joe and Steve at TBA THEATRES RIALTO! |
